By using our website, booking a ticket, attending an event, joining our mailing list, or engaging with Icebreaker Events, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About us
Icebreaker Events is a UK-based events business creating social, singles and activity-led events designed to help people meet in a more relaxed, natural and enjoyable way.

In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Icebreaker Events. “You” and “your” refer to the person using the website, booking a ticket or attending an event.
2. Eligibility
Unless stated otherwise, our singles events are for adults aged 18 or over.
You must not book or attend an Icebreaker Events event if you are under 18.
Some events may have specific age brackets, for example 25–35, 30–45 or over 40s. Where an event is advertised with an age bracket, you should only book if you fall within or are close to that range.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or cancel a booking if we believe you do not meet the eligibility criteria for the event.
You may be asked to provide valid photo ID at the venue.

We aim to describe our events as accurately as possible. Event details may include:

Please check the event listing carefully before booking.
Event details may occasionally change for reasons outside our control, such as venue changes, supplier issues, safety reasons, staffing, weather, or operational requirements. Where we need to make a significant change, we will try to notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
4. Booking tickets
Tickets must be booked through our website or an approved ticketing partner.
When booking, you agree that:

You meet the event eligibility requirements

You will comply with these Terms and any venue rules

You will behave respectfully towards other guests, hosts, venue staff and suppliers
A booking is confirmed when payment has been received and you receive a booking confirmation by email or through the ticketing platform.
Please check your confirmation details carefully and contact us as soon as possible if anything is incorrect.
5. Prices and payment
Ticket prices will be shown on the event page or checkout page.
Prices may vary depending on event type, ticket tier, early-bird pricing, promotional offers or availability.
Payment must be made in full at the time of booking unless we state otherwise.
Payments may be processed by a third-party provider such as [Stripe / PayPal / Wix Payments / Ticket Tailor / Eventbrite / other provider]. We do not usually store your full card details.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If we discover an error in the price of an event you have booked, we will contact you and give you the option to confirm the booking at the correct price or cancel for a refund.
6. Refunds, cancellations and transfers
Tickets for Icebreaker Events are usually for a specific date and time. As these are dated leisure events, the usual 14-day cooling-off cancellation period may not apply.
Our standard refund policy is as follows:
If you cancel your booking
Unless stated otherwise on the event page:

Tickets are non-refundable

You may transfer your ticket to another eligible person if you tell us at least [48 hours] before the event

We may, at our discretion, offer a transfer to a future event if you contact us at least [7 days] before the event

We cannot guarantee a refund or transfer for no-shows or last-minute cancellations
If we cancel an event
If we cancel an event, you will be offered either:

A full refund; or
-
A transfer to a future event
We will not usually be responsible for additional costs you may incur, such as travel, accommodation, childcare, parking or other expenses.
If we postpone or reschedule an event
If we postpone or reschedule an event, your ticket will usually be transferred to the new date.
If you cannot attend the new date, please contact us within the timeframe stated in our rescheduling email and we will explain your options.
If you are refused entry or asked to leave
We will not provide a refund if you are refused entry or asked to leave because:

You are underage

You cannot provide ID where required

You are intoxicated or under the influence of drugs

You behave inappropriately

You breach these Terms

You breach venue rules
-
You pose a risk to yourself, other guests, staff or the venue
7. Ticket transfers
If you want to transfer your ticket to someone else, you must contact us in advance.
The replacement attendee must meet the event eligibility criteria, including any age bracket, gender balance or other event-specific requirements.
We reserve the right to refuse a transfer if it would negatively affect the event format, safety, guest balance or matching process.
Tickets must not be resold for profit.
8. Event matching and introductions
Some Icebreaker Events may include matching, grouping, seating plans, team allocation, introductions or icebreaker activities.
We may use information you provide during checkout to help us create better groups, matches or introductions.
However, we do not guarantee:

Romantic compatibility

That you will meet a specific type of person

That you will be matched with everyone you are interested in

That another attendee will want to share contact details
-
That an event will lead to a date, friendship or relationship
Our events are designed to create opportunities for people to meet in a relaxed and enjoyable way. What happens afterwards is entirely up to the individuals involved.
You must not pressure another attendee to share their phone number, social media, personal information or to continue contact after the event.
9. Checkout questions and personal information
We may ask short questions during checkout to help organise the event and support matching, grouping or introductions.
Some questions may relate to personal preferences, lifestyle, relationship preferences or compatibility factors.
You agree to provide accurate information where you choose to answer these questions.
We will handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy. The ICO says organisations must provide people with privacy information, including why personal data is collected, how long it is kept and who it is shared with, at the time it is collected.

10. Behaviour and conduct
We want Icebreaker Events to feel safe, relaxed and welcoming.
By attending an event, you agree to:

Treat other guests, hosts, venue staff and suppliers with respect

Follow instructions from event hosts and venue staff

Respect personal boundaries

Accept that “no” means no

Avoid offensive, aggressive, discriminatory or intimidating behaviour

Avoid unwanted physical contact

Avoid pressuring anyone for contact details

Avoid taking photos or videos of other guests without their permission

Drink responsibly

Follow all venue rules
We operate a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, discrimination, threatening behaviour or unwanted sexual behaviour.
We reserve the right to remove anyone from an event without refund if we believe their behaviour is inappropriate, unsafe, disruptive or harmful to the experience of others.
11. Alcohol and drugs
Some events may take place in licensed venues where alcohol is available.
You are responsible for drinking responsibly and arranging safe transport home.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove you from an event if we believe you are intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, behaving unsafely or causing discomfort to other guests.
Illegal drugs are not permitted at our events.
Venue staff may refuse service in line with licensing laws and venue policies.
12. Safety and activity-based events
Some Icebreaker Events may involve physical or activity-based elements, such as climbing, VR experiences, games, movement-based activities, competitive challenges or venue-led activities.
By booking an activity-based event, you acknowledge that:

Some activities involve a level of physical risk

You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit and able to take part

You must follow safety instructions from event hosts, venue staff or activity providers

You must use equipment properly and responsibly

You should tell us in advance if you have accessibility needs or concerns that may affect your participation
Where events are run by third-party venues or activity providers, you may also be required to follow their own terms, safety rules, waivers or participation requirements.
We are not responsible for injuries caused by your failure to follow safety instructions, venue rules or reasonable guidance.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
13. Venues and third-party providers
Our events may be hosted at third-party venues or delivered with third-party suppliers.
This may include:

You agree to follow any venue or supplier rules.
We are not responsible for venue policies, venue pricing, venue service, venue accessibility, cloakroom facilities, food and drink service, parking, CCTV, or incidents caused by the venue or other third parties outside our reasonable control.
If you have accessibility, dietary or safety requirements, please contact us before booking or as soon as possible before the event. We will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee that every venue or activity will be suitable for every attendee.
14. Event balance and attendee numbers
For singles events, we may aim to create a balanced event based on age, gender, preferences, booking numbers or event format.
However, we cannot guarantee an exact balance.
Attendance numbers can be affected by cancellations, no-shows, late arrivals, illness, travel issues, weather or other factors outside our control.
A ticket purchase does not guarantee that you will meet a specific number of people or that the event will have an exact gender split or age split.
15. Late arrivals
Please arrive on time.
If you arrive late, we will do our best to include you in the event, but we cannot guarantee that you will be able to take part in every activity, introduction, round, match or group.
No refund will be given for late arrival.
16. Photos and videos
We may take photos or videos at some events for marketing, social media, website content or promotional use.
Where appropriate, we will let attendees know if photography or filming is taking place.
If you do not want to be photographed or filmed, please tell us before or during the event.
You must not take photos or videos of other attendees without their permission.
We may ask you to remove any content that we believe breaches another guest’s privacy, safety or comfort.
17. Marketing, offers and promotions
From time to time, we may run promotions, discounts, competitions, referral offers or giveaways.
Any promotion will be subject to its own terms, which may include eligibility, closing dates, availability, prize details or restrictions.
Promotional offers cannot usually be applied retrospectively to bookings already made.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend promotions where necessary, provided this does not unfairly affect people who have already entered or booked.
18. Website use
You agree not to misuse our website.
You must not:

You must not copy, reproduce, adapt, sell or use our content without our written permission.
You may share our public event pages or social media posts for personal, non-commercial purposes.
20. Accessibility
We want our events to be as inclusive and accessible as possible.
However, accessibility may vary depending on the venue, activity or event format.
If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us before booking so we can advise whether the event and venue are likely to be suitable.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate accessibility needs, but we cannot guarantee that every event or venue will be accessible to all attendees.
21. Food allergies and dietary requirements
Some events may include food, drinks or samples.
If you have allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements, please contact us before booking.
We will try to pass relevant information to the venue or supplier, but we cannot guarantee that food or drink will be free from allergens or cross-contamination.
You are responsible for checking with the venue or supplier before consuming food or drink.
22. Personal belongings
You are responsible for your own belongings at events.
We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items unless caused by our negligence.
Please contact the venue directly about lost property.
23. Complaints and concerns
If you have a concern during an event, please speak to the event host as soon as possible so we can try to resolve it on the night.

24. Our liability
We are responsible for providing our events with reasonable care and skill.
However, we are not responsible for:

25. Events outside our control
We will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control.
This may include:

Severe weather

Transport disruption

Venue closure

Power cuts

Fire

Flood

Illness or emergency

Government restrictions

Security issues

26. Changes to these Terms

The latest version will be available on our website.
The Terms in force at the time of your booking will usually apply to that booking, unless a change is required by law or for safety reasons.
27. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If a dispute arises, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere in the UK.
